Athletics legend Murombe dies

LEGENDARY marathon runner Rabson Murombe has died.
He is believed to have been in his late 80s.
According to a relative and sports organiser in Binga, Ronnie Siyamwamwatwa, Murombe breathed his last in Binga at 0100 hours on Tuesday.
He had been unwell for a long time.
Murombe rose to prominence in the early 1960s as a champion long distance runner on both track and road.
He made history alongside Mathias Kanda when they became the first Blacks to represent the country at the Olympics.
They were part of the team that took part in the Tokyo Olympics in 1964.
He ran for Wankie Athletics Club whose sponsors he worked for over 30 years.
