OU Athletics addresses incident against Kentucky team

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) - The Oklahoma Sooners Athletic Department on Thursday took to social media responding to an incident occurring after Wednesday's night's men's basketball contest against Kentucky.

According to OU Sooners "X" platform OU Athletics in part said the following: "We are aware of an incident that occurred following last night's men's basketball contest against Kentucky involving the throwing of a beverage can toward players. We are closely reviewing all available footage and are working to identify involved parties."

OU Athletics says, communication has been made with Southeastern Conference and encourages anyone with information regarding the incident to contact oah@ou.edu.

The University of Oklahoma re-affirmed on "X", it does not in any way condone this type of fan behavior and it will not be tolerated while additionally apologizing to University of Kentucky players, coaches and fans.
