The best chance the White Sox had to win a game in this series came and went yesterday, so cinch it up and hunker down tonight, Chris Flexen Night:

Miguel Vargas, who has been simply atrocious since coming to the White Sox — to be fair, there are not many not-atrocious guys on the 28-player roster — sits in favor of Bryan Ramos at third base. Ramos, whose love of the game and teammates is infectious, seems now to, finally, have Grady Sizemore under his spell as well.

Here’s the A’s:

Recall that just a year ago, the A’s were in the running for “worst team ever” and the entire planet tsk-tsked them. This year, they are still awful — but 22 games less awful than our White Sox.
