Valentina Savva secures silver medal in hammer throw at World U20 Athletics Championships

Cypriot athlete Valentina Savva secured a silver medal in the women’s hammer throw at the 20th World Athletics U20 Championships with a throw of 67.21 meters.

The event, held in Lima, Peru, featured athletes from 134 countries.

According to a press release by the Cyprus Amateur Athletics Federation (KOEAS), the remarkable performances of Cypriot athletes, including Savva’s silver and Iosif Kesidis’ gold in men’s hammer throw, placed Cyprus 11th on the medal table at the Championships.

In addition, Emilia Kolokotroni finished in sixth place with a throw of 63.38 meters.

KOEAS congratulated Valentina on her outstanding achievement and Emilia for her excellent effort. The federation also extended its congratulations to the eight Cypriot young athletes who participated in the event, commending them for their hard work and commendable representation of Cypriot athletics on such a prestigious global stage.
