A’s hope to take over sole possession of fourth place

After an emotional split of the two final games of the Bay Bridge Series with the Giants at the Coliseum, the Oakland Athletics continue the homestand with the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays are currently one game over .500 in the AL East while the A’s have moved into a tie for fourth place in the west with the Angels.

Mark Kotsay will send 25-year-old righty Joe Boyle to the mound tonight. Boyle is currently 2-5 with a 7.39 ERA in eight starts this season. He’ll go up against 23-year-old Taj Bradley for the Rays. Bradley is 6-7 with a 3.49 ERA in seventeen starts in 2024.
