Ky Bush got the start tonight, his first in the majors, and did about as well as you’d expect a guy coming off of five earned in 5 2⁄3 innings in his last Triple-A start would do, even against the limited firepower of the Oakland Athletics. And while the pitching was poor, the offense, as is its wont, was utterly abysmal: four hits, one walk, nine Ks. Last year’s 12th-place AL MVP finisher, Luis Robert Jr., is batting .210 and sporting a .702 OPS — and that OPS was highest in the lineup tonight!
The team is an embarrassment to baseball, and an embarrassment to rich and proud history of the Chicago White Sox.
