Blackburn faces Leiter in Arizona showdown
The National League Central’s Chicago Cubs visit the Oakland Athletics today at Hohokam stadium in Mesa. Taking the mound for the A’s is righty Paul Blackburn. Blackburn is 2-0 in six innings over two starts this spring. He is a Northern California native and a former Cubs draft pick. Taking the mound for the Cubs is Mark Leiter Jr. Leiter has made five relief appearances this spring with no decisions in five innings.
