[Men's Basketball] Tigh Compton Named NAIA Coach of the Week By HoopDirt.com

Pikeville, KY – UPIKE head men's basketball coach Tigh Compton was honored this morning as the HoopDirt.com/Just Play Solutions NAIA Coach of the Week after leading the Bears to a 2-0 week and a 7-0 start to the season. This is the seventh season that HoopDirt.com is naming a Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III along with NAIA and JUCO.
After trailing 35-33 at halftime against Emory & Henry College on the road last Tuesday, UPIKE outscored the Wasps by 14 in the second half and came away with a solid 83-71 win. The Bears led for the entirety of their game on Saturday at home against Ohio Valley University, leading by as many as 32 in their 87-58 victory.
