[Indoor Track & Field] 12 Individual Champions and 2 Relays Crowned on IT&F Day 1

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The opening day of the 2021 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference crowned 12 individual championship and two relay teams and saw four meet records broken at the Alksnis Athletics & Recreation Building on the campus of Aquinas.

Luke Pohl of Cornerstone set a new meet record in the men's 5000 meters with a time of 14:53.64, breaking Colin De Youngs' record of 15:01.15 from 2019. Indiana Tech's 4x800 men's relay team also set new meet record with a time of 7:51.69, breaking Siena Heights' record of 7:55.83 from 2009.

On the women's side, Victoria Faber of Aquinas shattered her own meet record of 3.82m from last year with a height of 4.01m (13-01.75) and Indiana Tech's Destiny Copeland broke her own long jump record (6.04m) set in 2020 with a distance of 6.19m (20-03.75).

The top three finishers receive All-Conference honors: 1st place is 1st Team, 2nd place is 2nd Team, and 3rd place is Honorable Mention.
