[Women's Basketball] Mott's Thompson named NJCAA Division II Player of the Week for second time

Mott Community College freshman guard Jacara Thompson has been named NJCAA Player of the Week for the second time this year. Thompson averaged 32.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game last week. She help lead the Bears to a 3-0 week as the beat the top two teams in the conference, Macomb Community College and Schoolcraft College, plus Alpena Community College. She average 39.3 minutes per game, including all 45 minutes in the overtime win over Schoolcraft College. Thompson average 2.3 steals and shot 45.6 percent from the floor, 31.6 percent from the arc and 80 percent from the floor during the stretch. Thompson and the Bears close out the regular season tonight when they host Oakland Community College.
