Victoria Bowmen Meeting Minutes February 12, 2026
Attendance:

1. CALL TO ORDER
- The meeting was called to order by the President at 6:30pm
2. CHAIRMAN’S OPENING REMARKS
- The President welcomed everyone to the meeting, thanked them for their attendance, and read an Indigenous land acknowledgement.
- The President asked that meeting attendees take a moment of silence to reflect on the tragedy in Tumbler Ridge
3. CORRESPONDENCE
- Email received from Linda Price regarding possible dates for archery clinic
- Letter received from Archery Canada thanking club for donation made in memory pf Frank Perry
- Correspondence received from Cowichan Bowmen inquiring about renting Victoria Bowmen’s timers for upcoming tournaments
4. Call for motion of adoption of agenda

5. REPORTS
- Treasurer:
- Club finances, investments, and accounts are all in good shape.
- Standing Committees – 2026 BC Indoor Championships:
- Everything on track for tournament, planning etc. going well. Sofia, Jarod, Greg busy with organizing and preparing. Registration is full, plus a number of archers on waitlist. Call for volunteers to help out
6. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
- None
7. NEW BUSINESS
Call for new business
- Linda Price (archery clinic coach) very busy so clinics run by her difficult to schedule in the near future. Club will look at some other possible options, possibly survey club as to gauge what members would be interested in as far as shooting clinics etc.
- Club also looking at arranging Instructor of Beginner Archer coaching clinic – TBD
- Indoor Shooting – Indoor shoots very busy, DSO/RSO is in charge and will verbally remind archers about etiquette, helping with set up & take down etc. before shoots begin to ensure shoots are not held up and everyone has opportunity to shoot and get practice in
- Indoor Butts upkeep – new centers have been purchased for butts that are worn out, Vesa looking at best way to install/repair
- MICA Tournament – everything ready for Sunday MICA tournament, 54 registrants
- Outdoor Shooting Update/Rangers – Wednesday evenings and Saturday outdoor shoots will be starting up again once weather improves/warms up in spring
- Social Media – Curtis Hobson volunteered to help run club social media channels
- Board spending policy clarified for all
- Bow sights to be repaired/replaced, need more finger tabs (L)
- Container clean – some volunteers needed to give out container a spring cleaning on upcoming Sunday – date TBD
