Next Adjust and Maintain workshop – Basic bow set up and tuning

0 3

The next of this winter’s ‘Adjust and Maintain’ workshop sessions is this coming Saturday (25th January)

This is the fourth of a series of informal coaching workshops over the winter season, put on to provide information, help and guidance on some of the fundamental parts of the equipment we all shoot with.

This session will cover the essentials of setting up and tuning your bow, and will probably be a bit more hands-on than the others, covering questions like;

  • What exactly is bow set up and tuning?: what difference does it make?
  • Limb alignment?: why does it matter? how do I check it? how do I make any adjustments if needed?
  • Bracing height and tiller: measuring, adjusting and checking
  • Getting the arrow aligned: Setting nocking point, arrow rest and button positions for perfect centre shot
  • Checking it all with bare shaft tuning: how to do it? what can it tell you?
  • Sights: Setting up, alignment, maintenance and adjustment.
  • A basic introduction to stabilisation: what does it do? what is the reason for different set ups? what are the disadvantages? how can I try different set ups?,

This will definitely NOT be a ‘death by Powerpoint’ session! – it is intended to be a mix of hands-on demonstration, discussion and questions that will hopefully leave you a little more confident in the equipment you are using!

You will be welcome to bring your own bow so that you can put come of this into practice right away!

Although primarily intended for our new members and those new to archery – all are welcome – if only to point out the bits I’ve got wrong!

Date: 25th January 2025
Time: 12.30pm-1.30pm
Place: GAC Clubhouse

PLEASE ADD YOUR NAME TO THE BOOST SESSION SIGN UP AND ADD A NOTE: ‘Workshop’

All the best and good shooting
