5. REPORTS
Treasurer: All reports and balance sheets up to date, club accounts are in good shape.
Membership Director: reported that the club currently has 71 members
Brad Barclay: Adult classes at Commonwealth are full and going well. A reminder to all members to ensure the container is properly locked after each shoot/class. Occasionally the lock has not been properly “clicked” shut and/or has been left set to the combination. Needs to be properly locked and combination numbers scrambled.
Frank Perry: Attendance at club indoor shoots has been fairly good, back up from the dip in attendance in late spring/early summer.
JOP Director: JOP going well, very busy with 10–16 young archers showing up each week. Kids progressing through the JOP program with even more certificates handed out lately.
Webmaster: Website and MailChimp (for club emails) all running smoothly, no issues.
6. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
New sights are still needed on some of the beginner/lesson bows, other sights can likely be repaired or have parts replaced. Helena to coordinate
7. NEW BUSINESS
- Work party taking place Aug 24 at 10am to organize the equipment container in preparation for the 55+ Games.
- 55+ Games Sep 13-17 – fast approaching, club is ready to host the archery event. All that’s left to do is transport butts, butt stands etc. to the site and set up Sep 11/12. Volunteers are ready to pitch in with moving, as well as helping during competition.
- 2023 Nationals (Aug) – will need lots of volunteers to help set up and run this event. Hoping for a grant from ViaSport to help with funds.
- AGM Sep 22 – elections will be held for Board of Director positions, encouraging all members to attend with possible social get together following the meeting. Using Kinsmen Field House at Westshore Rec Centre for the meeting to bring in club members with an eye to the work next year hosting the 2023 Nationals at Westshore Rec.
