Busy bunnies, and more!
Well, that was a busy Easter weekend!
On a sunny Good Friday, 26 members joined in with the Hot Cross Bun shoot and enjoyed my mystery scoring and a surfeit of chocolate prizes!
On the Saturday, there was the regular GAC Juniors in the morning, followed by the second session of the current outdoor beginners course, which was blessed with more warm sunshine and a great atmosphere!
On Sunday there was the regular Target Sunday session and on Easter Monday, there was a WA70 round, and in between all these there were lots of members making the most of the Easter sunshine!
This week, things are little quieter, but there are still opportunities to get involved!
Here’s a little reminder of what’s going on at the club over the next week – there are opportunities to be coached, practice, gain or improve your handicap or classification and to help out with beginners – just dive in!
Are you looking for some coaching?
– then come along this Friday!
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT GROUP: Fridays 6.00 – 8.00pm
These evenings are open to ALL senior and junior members who want to work on their shooting. Whether to improve scores in competition or simply to improve thier social archery, they are a mix of coaching and shared experience from the GAC coaching team and some of the more regular archers, aimed at looking at elements of technique and equipment set up.
If you’d like to join in, just add your name to the date on the Sign Up Genius
Have you ever considered helping with our beginners courses?
We have the final session of the first of our 2022 outdoor beginners courses on Saturday – could you spare some time to come and help? – we have sufficient volunteers for the instruction, but are always grateful for extra hands to help with setting up, general help during the session and packing away. Just be at the club for about 1.00 and all will be explained!
TARGET SUNDAY: Sundays 9.30am – 1.00pm
This is a weekly opportunity to shoot with fellow club members, practice your technique and gain or improve your handicap or classification. The sessions will alternate between Imperial and Metric rounds, with distances to suit all ages, abilities and experience! – This week we are shooting Metric rounds (although not compulsory, you will be most welcome to join in and shoot any round or just practice if you prefer)
Shooting starts at 10.00 and will continue until the rounds are finished (probably about 12.30/1.00) – please arrive around 9.30 to allow time to set up your equipment and help put out the necessary targets ready for a 10.00 start.
If you’d like to join in, just add your name to the date on the Sign Up Genius
CLUB EVENINGS: Tuesday 6.00-8.00pm
These are evenings intended for practice and social archery – no specific rounds or coaching, just an opportunity to meet and shoot with other members!
