Mervo football made timely plays on offense and simply swarmed on defense against visiting Old Mill on Friday, the reward a solid 42-7 win that puts the No. 5 Mustangs into next week’s Class 4A/3A state title game. Mervo (11-1) will meet Sherwood — a 42-14 winner over Perry Hall in Friday’s other semifinal — for the state championship next week.
