Etiwanda girls basketball team gets defensive in Open Division win over Rancho Christian

RANCHO CUCAMONGA — When the Etiwanda girls basketball team defeated Rancho Christian on Jan. 24, Etiwanda coach Stan Delus wasn’t happy with his team’s defense that allowed 73 points, including 11 3-pointers to senior guard Ebony Taylor-Smith. Suffice it to say, defense was the focus in the playoff rematch on Saturday. Second-seeded Etiwanda held No. 9 Rancho Christian to six points in the first half and went on to an 87-36 rout in a CIF Southern Section Open Division quarterfinal game.
