Matla hitting top speed at right time for Den bosch

With the EHL in sight, Frédérique Matla is hitting top speed with an impressive goal-scoring run at Den Bosch with 10 goals in her last seven games.

As reported on the Tulp Hoofdklasse website, last weekend Matla also reached a special milestone in the home game against HGC, scoring her 98th, 99th and 100th league goals in home games at the Oosterplas, bringing her total to 205 in all Hoofdklasse games.

It also means she has climbed higher on the all-time top scorer list, passing former SCHC defender Caia van Maasakker to go into seventh place.

The next name on the ranking is already within reach; Matla needs two more goals to equal Ageeth Boomgaardt (207 goals for MOP and Den Bosch). Next on the agenda is a date with Bloemendaal, a side she has scored against 21 times with nine of them coming from her last four games at ‘t Kopje.

On the EHL front, she is the top scorer in the women’s competition with 17 goals in 11 matches, bringing home three gold medals and one silver in four tournament appearances.

Her side will host the EHL from April 1st to 6th with Den Bosch making their first appearance on April 2nd against the winner of either Railway Union or Watsonians.
