Den Bosch land big win as SCHC stay clear

0 5

Den Bosch picked up a big 2-1 away win over AH&BC Amsterdam while SCHC maintained their six-point lead in the women’s Hoofdklasse which returned last weekend.

For both Den Bosch and SCHC, it begins their build-up to the EHL FINALS on the front foot with a month to go to the main event in Brabant.

At the Wagener Stadium, after a scoreless first half, Den Bosch won a mini-battle 2-1 in Q3 with a flurry of three goals coming in four minutes.

Frédérique Matla broke the deadlock before Lieve Wijckmans bobbled in the second moments later amid a scramble in the circle.

Imke Verstraeten cut the gap in half from a penalty stroke in the 43rd minute but Den Bosch held on for the points which lifts them up to third place with Amsterdam dropping to fourth.

In Bilthoven, SCHC were strong 3-0 winners over Pinoké with Jip Dicke only needing three minutes to put her side in front with a sharp finish. Mette Winter poked in the second before half-time and Yibbi Jansen whipped in a penalty stroke to complete the victory in the second half.

The win was their 11th of the campaign and keeps them six points ahead of Kampong who were 2-0 winners at Tilburg; Kampong, however, can cut that gap on Thursday night when they play a back match against Oranje-Rood.

Sunday sees the Utrecht side in action once again, this time hosting AH&BC Amsterdam while Rotterdam welcome SCHC and Den Bosch host HGC.
