Surbiton ended Old Georgians three-year reign as English men’s champions as Struan Walker’s goal proved decisive in a 2-1 final win.
It means the Seals advance straight to the EHL FINAL8 next Easter with OGs and third placed Wimbledon confirmed to play in the KO16 in October.
In Sunday’s final, Jacob Payton gave Surbiton the lead before Tom Carson levelled with an impudent lob for 1-1; those preceded Payton’s winner in the 42nd minute.
Wimbledon, meanwhile, won the third place playoff in a shoot-out ahead of Oxted with Rory Patterson scoring the winning effort.
