SCHC land Dutch final spot against DEN Bosch

0 32

SCHC landed a Dutch final spot and an EHL ticket into the bargain on Monday evening when they won 2-1 at AH&BC Amsterdam, setting up a final date with Den Bosch.

The first leg in Bilthoven had ended 0-0 after Anne Veenendaal saved two penalty strokes but SCHC were fired up for leg two.

They hit the front in the eighth minute when Maud van den Heuvel won a penalty corner which Yibbi Jansen fired home.

Van den Heuvel then have her side extra breathing room with 10 minutes to go when she got a great touch to Xan de Waard’s angled ball into the circle.

Amsterdam got one back via an outstanding individual goal from Stella van Gils, setting up a big finish. But SCHC held firm in the face of the onslaught to preserve the scoreline and advance to next weekend’s final.

For Den Bosch, their passage to the final was far more comfortable as they ran up the biggest scoreline in playoff history. They led 3-0 after the first leg on Saturday and then won 7-0 in the second leg with Joosje Burg scoring a hat trick.

The two-legged final will be played next weekend with SCHC hosting on Saturday at 1.15pm (CET) with the return leg at the same time on Sunday in Den Bosch.
