Hendrickx to bid fond farewell to Pinoké

0 9

Alexander Hendrickx will look to sign off his six-year spell with Pinoké in style at the EHL FINAL8 following confirmation he will move to Gantoise next season.

The penalty corner gun has scored 102 times for the Amsterdamse Bos club, netting the most in the Hoofdklasse on two occasions and was a vital figure as Pinoké won the Dutch title for the first time.

He admits he is “saying goodbye with a heavy heart” but is looking forward to returning to play in his homeland and try to add a fourth national title to his total having won the Belgian championship with KHC Dragons in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Speaking of his departure, he said: “After six unforgettable years, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that at the end of this season I will bid farewell to the wonderful club that is Pinoké.

“My teammates, staff members, people from the club, and supporters have warmly welcomed me since day one, making Pinoké very quickly my second home. Together, we have experienced beautiful adventures that will always stay with me. I have made friends for life here.

“It pleases me to see how we, with this wonderful team, have made strides year after year, and I am convinced that they will continue to do so in the future.

“But first, we still have a beautiful challenge in this second half of the season where we are still competing on all fronts for the prizes. I will do my utmost to conclude my Pinoké era beautifully!

“This club and everyone involved will always have a special place in my heart!”

For Hendrickx and Pinoké, they will play in the EHL FINAL8 on March 28th in the Wagener Stadium against Real Club de Polo as they look to win their first medal on this stage.

They are also in contention in the Dutch Hoofdklasse where they sit in second place for the winter break, one point behind Oranje-Rood.

He is among a number of Belgian players making big moves this summer. Arthur van Doren has already confirmed he will move from Bloemendaal to Braxgata for next term while Victor Wegnez is switching from Royal Racing Club de Bruxelles to play with Waterloo Ducks.
