Press Conference For The SES May 9th Show At The Sparkassen Ice Dome In Halle
After more than seven years , SES Boxing is finally staging a major boxing event in Halle. The new Sparkassen Ice Dome will provide a new venue for the fight night, featuring two WBO title fights and additional professional and amateur bouts in cooperation with Halle’s Commander Box-Promotion and BC Halle – a highlight of German boxing and a live broadcast on MDR television.
Halle has a long boxing tradition, and the sport is practically at home in this city. Therefore, it’s the ideal platform for these two WBO title fights , which are set to reach their final decision here.
SES promoter Ulf Steinforth: “Everything is now in place for the fantastic event here in Halle at the Sparkassen Ice Dome, one of the most magnificent sports arenas in Saxony-Anhalt. Everything was going perfectly for Halle – and then came this unfortunate injury to Artur Reis during sparring, which made his fight impossible. Luckily, Adam Deines was in an intensive preparation phase, had already completed sparring sessions, and can now step in for Artur in the WBO Europe title fight. He secured this title for us back in 2022, is extremely experienced in title fights, is now particularly eager, and thus has the chance to challenge the world’s elite once again. With the Junior World Championship fight, we had a fantastic duel between two very young boxers as the main event. The draw from the last fight will now be settled in Halle, and this rematch should find a clear and worthy winner!” Our highly touted heavyweight, Michel Dobler, now faces his first German duel against a very strong southpaw, Mike Lehnis, and will have to prove himself in this crucial match! With the preliminary card featuring many young boxing talents from Halle, in cooperation with Commander Box Promotion and BC Halle, we also want to demonstrate the immense substance and potential within German boxing. I can’t stress this enough and I’m really looking forward to this SES boxing gala in Halle – it’s a real treat – it’s going to be top-class boxing!
The main battle:
The duel is set to be rematched: after the draw in the first fight for the WBO Youth World Championship in September, WBO Junior World Champion Julian Vogel (Aschersleben) will face his challenger and WBC Junior World Champion Sami Ahmeti from Plattling, Bavaria, in a rematch!
After the draw in the first fight for the WBO Youth World Championship in the super welterweight division between WBO Junior World Champion Julian Vogel (Aschersleben) and his After a rematch against 22-year-old challenger and WBC Junior World Champion Sami Ahmeti from Plattling, Bavaria, in September in Aschersleben, a new duel, a rematch, is now on the cards. After their highly dramatic and consistently fair duel with the Verdict “Draw” (two judges scored 95:95, one saw the fight as 96:94) Both boxers have since fought and won their bouts. Julian Vogel (18-0-2 (10)) impressed with a TKO victory in round 1 in Brno, Czech Republic, while Sami Ahmeti (10-0-1 (5)) clearly defeated his Mexican opponent on points. This promises another high-caliber and extremely exciting fight between two young, technically gifted German boxing talents. Julian Vogel, a boxer from “Team Germany” and only 23 years old, will be defending his WBO Junior World Championship belt for the fourth time!
The sound bites from the press conference at the GLOBANA Event and Trade Fair Campus in Schkeuditz:
Julian Vogel: “We’ve already come to appreciate each other and get to know each other well. For me, Saturday will be all about controlling the ring and utilizing my new strengths. My coach, Dirk Dzemski, has made me more ‘responsive’; he can guide me from the outside like ‘with a joystick,’ providing me with better tactical options. I promise it will definitely get even better, it will be an awesome fight, and I’ll keep my title!”
Sami Ahmeti: “The belt has to come to Plattling with us, especially because of my many fans who are now coming back to Halle. We know what we have to do on Saturday to bring home the victory!”
SES coach Dirk Dzemski: “The past six months have been important for Julian. He can now focus even better, and I’ve been able to incorporate more tactical variety into his training. I have a very good feeling that he’ll show even more good and flexible boxing against Sami Ahmeti!”
The second main battle:
Adam Deines is stepping in – Artur Reis unfortunately had to decline!
In the fight for the now vacant WBO Europe Championship in the light heavyweight division, Adam Deines will now step in for the injured champion Artur Reis against the Pole Mateusz Tryc!
What bad luck for Artur Reis ! The likeable Wolfsburg native injured his nose during the final sparring session and will be unable to defend his title in the rematch against Poland’s Mateusz Tryc . He will now be replaced by Adam Deines , who stepped in at short notice and will face Mateusz Tryc (16-3-0 (8)) for the WBO Europe light heavyweight championship ! Adam Deines (25-4-1 (15)) was already in an intensive preparation phase, having completed his sparring sessions at the SES Gym, and is thus ideally prepared for this title fight. In 2022, Deines, who now lives near Gifhorn, secured this very WBO Europe title with a knockout victory at the Magdeburg open-air stage. Therefore, this last-minute appointment is a great motivation and challenge for Adam Deines to reclaim his place among the world’s elite. This duel is guaranteed to be high-stakes and exciting!
The sound bites from the press conference at the GLOBANA Event and Trade Fair Campus in Schkeuditz:
Adam Deines: “I didn’t hesitate for a moment and said yes to the fight. I’ll never get an opportunity like this again, and I absolutely want to challenge for the top spot in the world rankings once more! We know how to handle Tryc. We’re going to give him a real run for his money on Saturday!”
Mateusz Tryc: “It was so important for me to be able to box for this title again. Adam Deines is more dangerous, he’s a southpaw – but it doesn’t matter, we’re well prepared for anything!”
SES coach Dirk Dzemski : “Adam is in very good shape, both physically and mentally. He knows what to do on Saturday, as he has international experience and the necessary composure!”
Tryc trainer Hubert Migaczew: “We see Adam Deines as more dangerous. He’s an experienced boxer with a good punch. But Mateusz has the means, the boxing skills after all these years, to take on anyone. We’ve made some adjustments for Deines’ southpaw stance in the last two weeks, and it should work well now!”
SES heavyweight Michel Dobler is fully “on track” after one year as a professional – with Karlsruhe’s Mike Lehnis as his opponent, he will face a real test in a German heavyweight duel.
Our German heavyweight talent , Michel Dobler, from “Team Germany,” is right on track after five wins, including four knockout victories, in his first professional year and aims to continue his winning streak at the Ice Dome in Halle! However, he now faces a seasoned 37-year-old heavyweight from Karlsruhe, Mike Lehnis (8-1-0 (5)), in this all-German heavyweight clash. Lehnis delivered a remarkable performance in his last fight against the world number 69, Iceland’s Kolbeinn Kristinsson (now ranked 13th in 19 fights with 13 knockouts), holding his own until the 7th round. Furthermore , Mike Lehnis is a southpaw, posing a particular challenge for Michel Dobler in his still-young heavyweight career!
The youngest German professional boxer, Arminius Rolle (15), enters the ring for his fifth professional fight!
At just 15 years old , Arminius Rolle is Germany’s youngest professional boxer ! The Berlin native comes from a family where boxing has always played a major role. His father, Robert Rolle, was the IBF European light heavyweight champion and is now his trainer and manager. In 2023 and 2024 , Arminius Rolle became the Junior World Champion in chessboxing. In May 2025, Arminius Rolle made his professional debut in Nuremberg with a special permit from the German Professional Boxing Federation (BDB) and even won by knockout. The high school student, still competing in the lightweight division, will face Georgian Amiran Abuladze in Halle in what will be his fifth professional fight.
Debut for SES Boxing – Silvio Schierle will step into the ring for his first professional fight in Halle. But, the path to the 2028 Olympics remains his ultimate goal!
He has an exemplary amateur career and wants to keep his sights set on the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Light heavyweight Silvio Schierle (28) has made his mark on boxing as a Bundesliga boxer and multiple-time German champion. Now he wants to try his hand at professional boxing and will have his first professional fight in Halle against Czech boxer Stepan Guba . SES Boxing will support him on his path to a successful and potential Olympic participation, as this is another major goal that Silvio Schierle , originally from Thuringia and now living and training in Frankfurt/Oder, intends to pursue with great intensity!
A boxing team from Halle will perform in the preliminary program of this SES boxing gala – five boxing talents from Halle will have the opportunity to showcase themselves on this large stage in the Sparkassen Ice Dome!
Boxing fans can also look forward to seeing five talented boxers from BC Halle – in various amateur weight classes – at the Sparkassen Ice Dome on May 9th.
The boxing audience in Halle, boxing fans in Central Germany, and TV viewers nationwide can look forward to a fantastic and high-quality boxing event featuring top-class professional fights and boxing matches by Halle’s talented young boxers, in cooperation with Commander Box Promotion , and in the special atmosphere of the Sparkassen Ice Dome !
