The tradition of the World Boxing Council commemorative belt, celebrating Mexican Independence Day and Cinco de Mayo with the “Tollan Tlatequi” (a traditional Toltec symbol), will continue as it is awarded to the winner of the fight between David Benavidez and Gilberto Ramírez, which will take place May 2 in the United States.

The World Boxing Council pays homage to Toltec culture and the historical legacy of Hidalgo, drawing inspiration from the ancient city of Tollan-Xicocotitlan, a military, social, and political center of the Toltec civilization. The belt incorporates elements representing Toltec warriors and the glory reserved for the winner, while also reflecting and preserving loyalty, dignity, courage, and honor, along with the values of the WBC.

The belt will be presented at a special ceremony in Mexico City.
