All The Smoke Signs Development Deal With Emmy Winner Howard Bryant
All The Smoke Productions (ATS Productions) has signed a multi-project unscripted development deal with Hawley Road Productions, founded by Emmy Award-winning producer and writer Howard Bryant (The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox).
The partnership expands ATS Productions’ premium, athlete-driven storytelling into long-form documentary and unscripted series, building on the company’s established reputation for authentic sports and culture narratives.
The move marks a natural evolution for ATSP and Chief Operating Officer Brian Dailey, who previously built the premium basketball vertical at Showtime Sports. As an executive producer, Dailey has overseen acclaimed projects including Kevin Garnett: Anything Is Possible, Quiet Storm: The Ron Artest Story, Legacy: Bob Hurley and The Resurgence (DeMarcus Cousins).
“All The Smoke is built on authentic storytelling, and we’ve always focused on projects with partners that bring a unique voice and unfiltered perspective,” said Dailey. “We’re now exploring new ways to tell those stories—reimagining how they’re created and where they live, beyond traditional models. We’re excited to partner with Howard because he brings a distinct and innovative vision to the documentary space that lines up perfectly with our ethos and trajectory.”
NBA Champion and ATS Productions co-founder and CEO Matt Barnes added: “All The Smoke has become a place where athletes know they can come to tell their stories, unfiltered. The huge response we saw with the launch of ATS Baseball just a few weeks ago validates our approach to authentic storytelling. Now, with Howard, we will take that same approach to the documentary space.”
Bryant launched Hawley Road Productions in 2025 after nearly two decades as a columnist at ESPN and serving as Executive Director for Unscripted Development at Meadowlark Media. With production partners Melody Shafir and Barnicle Brothers, Bryant won the 2025 EMMY Award for Outstanding Documentary Series as executive producer of The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox for Netflix. Bryant also served as executive producer on HBO’s EMMY-nominated series Back on the Record with Bob Costas and collaborated with Ken Burns on multiple documentary projects. Bryant has authored 11 books.
“This is an incredible opportunity to do meaningful work,” Bryant said. “All The Smoke has the voice, credibility and reach to tell the stories that aren’t being told. Brian, Matt and I have discussed working together for years — now it’s time.”
Founded in 2024, ATS Productions reaches more than 20 million fans across its digital platforms. Its weekly series include All The Smoke, hosted by company co-founders Barnes and fellow NBA Champion Stephen Jackson, along with ATS Unplugged, Hall of Game, The Art of Ward, and Ring Champs. The company has also expanded into live events and athlete-led premium content.
All The Smoke Productions has redefined sports conversation with unfiltered, culturally resonant long and short form content featuring the biggest names in sports, music and entertainment. ATSP has also expanded into live events and athlete-led premium content, further cementing the brand’s cross-platform reach.
