Jeo Santisima Vs. Mikhail Grigoryan — IBF Asia Lightweight Title, April 17, Serpukhov

0 8

Filipino-rated boxer Jeo Santisima, a former world title challenger, will face undefeated Russian Mikhail Grigoryan on April 17 in Serpukhov, Russia (about 100 km from Moscow). The vacant IBF Asia lightweight title (61.23 kg) is on the line.

Santisima (26–9) challenged Emanuel Navarrete for the WBO world title, losing by stoppage in the 11th round but remaining competitive in many rounds at world championship level. He is highly ranked on BoxRec and holds a three-star rating.

His opponent, 22-year-old Mikhail Grigoryan, is 8–0 with 2 KOs and brings a strong amateur background. Promoter Peter Maniatis called it a significant step up in class for Grigoryan.

“Jeo Santisima is rated three stars on BoxRec and is a world title challenger who went 11 rounds with Emanuel Navarrete. He fought really well, so I expect Jeo to bring a big fight,” Maniatis said. “The winner will be seeking an IBF ranking, and the vacant IBF Asia title will be at stake. This bout will be a high-level test for Mikhail Grigoryan against Jeo Santisima.”
