Fast-rising Japanese speedster, ex-gold medalist of world championship tournaments WBC#1 super fly Tomoya Tsuboi (3-0-1, 2 KOs), 114,5, fought to a technical draw with former WBC interim super fly ruler Pedro Guevara (43-5-3, 22 KOs), 114.5, at 0:23 of the second round in a scheduled ten on Saturday in Tokyo, Japan. Having upset ex-champ Carlos Cuadras via impressive TKO in his previous bout, Tsuboi quickly jumped up to #1 in the WBC ratings. He this time squared off against former two-division titlist Guevara from Mexico in a highly expected encounter. Though the first session was competitive, it abruptly ended as soon as the second session began when Guevara fell down flat after an accidental butt. He was carried out of the ring on a stretcher. It was a great disappointment for the well-packed audience at Ryogoku Sumo Arena (Kokugikan).
