Sugar Ray Salim Hussein Guns For UBO Title
Undefeated Salim Hussein will fight for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (Africa) Lightweight title on April 24 in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
19-year-old Hussein (6-0, 1 KO), nicknamed “Sugar Ray”, will face Malawian Daniel Mukhaya (6-2-1, 2 KOs) in his first championship bout.
Broadcast live by Azam TV, the fight will be one of the featured attractions on Mafia Boxing Promotions eighth edition of their “Knockout Ya Mama” series.
After four routine victories between his debut in September of 2024 and June of 2025, Hussein has raised eyebrows with impressive victories in his last two outings.
Last December he decisioned former Tanzanian champion Ali Mkojani (9-3), and this past February he did the same to fellow up-and-comer Hassan Waziri (7-1-1).
Now he is ready for another challenge, hoping to make another big impression on his mission to become one of the next big stars of Tanzanian boxing.
