COMBATE GLOBAL today announced a complete, five-bout ‘Mexico vs. USA’ Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) card for its next event in Burbank on Saturday, April 11.

Beginning with the event on April 11, it was announced that all future COMBATE GLOBAL events in 2026 will take place on Saturday nights.

The COMBATE GLOBAL card will air live in the U.S. at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT in Spanish on EstrellaTV and Samsung TV Plus; live in the U.S. in English on Samsung TV Plus (COMBATE GLOBAL English channel on Samsung TV Plus); and live worldwide in English on the COMBATE GLOBAL channel on YouTube.

The event will also air live in Mexico on Samsung TV Plus at 9 p.m. CT.

Priced from $30, tickets for the COMBATE GLOBAL event on April 11 are on sale at Ticketon.com.

“Among epic rivalries, few are hotter than Mexico vs. USA, so this is the perfect way to launch our live show on Saturday nights”, said COMBATE GLOBAL CEO Campbell McLaren.

In the bantamweight (135 pounds) main event, Gianni “Kriptonita” Vazquez (13-5-1) will represent his native Mexico against American star, Alvin “The Anvil” Welch (6-1).

The 31-year-old Vazquez, born and raised in Mexico City, fights out of the Irvine, Calif.-based camp of famed MMA trainer, Colin Oyama.

In February, Vazquez accepted a fight on two days’ notice and ultimately lost a unanimous decision to Javid Basharat, a result that snapped a previous, five-fight win streak for the Mexican fighter.

Vazquez is the only fighter in history with a victory over world-ranked contender, David Martinez, a feat that Vazquez pulled off in COMBATE GLOBAL action in April 2021, when he earned a split decision over Martinez.

Also 31 years of age, Welch fights out of Spokane, Wash. and the Rick Little-led camp that has produced the likes of former world champion Julianna Peña and The Ultimate Fighter competition reality show winner, Juliana “Killer” Miller.

Welch’s last win under MMA rules came last November 8 when he defeated Hector Lopez by way of second round (3:22) submission (rear-naked choke).

In addition to his MMA pursuit, Welch boasts professional boxing experience.

Announced today as the COMBATE GLOBAL co-main event for April 11 was a women’s 120-pound catchweight contest between COMBATE GLOBAL veterans Nadia Vera (6-5-1) and Abril “Mulan” Anguiano (7-5).

Vera, 36, is a native resident of Mexico City and a member of the Bonebreakers fight team that won the 2022 COMBATE GLOBAL competition reality show that saw four of the world’s top gyms fight it out against each other for a grand prize of $50,000.

Vera did not begin training MMA until she was 24, but has since reached the rank of purple belt in Muay Thai and blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Fighting out of Garland, Texas, the 26-year-old Anguiano has never suffered a knockout defeat since turning professional in 2019.

Anguiano, who is almost a pure striker that likes throwing punches and elbow strikes, also competes in professional boxing.

In a 175-pound catchweight fight, unbeaten Joaquin Garcia (2-0) of Villa Park, Calif. will take on Gerardo Bazaldua (6-3) of Monterrey, N.L., Mexico.

A second women’s matchup will pit Gabriela Aviña (2-1) of Guadalajara, Jal., Mexico against Sophie Lang (1-0) of Eugene, Ore. at strawweight (115 pounds).

Opening up the card will be a 150-pound catchweight bout between two pro debut fighters, Erik Valerio (0-0) of Chihuahua, Chih., Mexico and Amin Eerakshan (0-0) of Irvine, Cali.
