American Joe Pyfer defeated former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya by technical knockout at 4 minutes and 18 seconds of the second round. This was the fourth consecutive loss for Adesanya, who hasn’t won since defeating Alex Poatan for the championship in 2023.
Joe Pyfer showed no fear, openly exchanging blows with former champion Adesanya, who maintained his usual technical knowledge and landed good knees, jabs, and straight punches.
Pyfer, however, seized the opportunity to throw powerful punches, grab Adesanya, and take him down. As soon as he hit the ground, the American climbed on top of his opponent, who gradually succumbed to the blows, doubled over, and saw referee Herb Dean signal the end of the fight.
It’s Pyfer’s fifth consecutive victory, while Adesanya confirmed he will not retire yet, despite his recent losses.
In his UFC debut, former LFA featherweight champion “Gunslinger” Lerryan defeated the experienced Julian Erosa. Lerryan dominated “Juicy J” with calf kicks so powerful they forced the American to quickly switch stances. Douglas hurt his opponent several times, even with jabs, and sent Erosa to the canvas with hooks and uppercuts.
In the light heavyweight division, the third fight of the night saw undefeated New Zealander Navajo Stirling knock out Brazilian light heavyweight Bruno Lopes in the second round after being taken down by a series of Stirling combinations.
Australian Casey O’Neill knocked out Brazilian Gabrielle Fernandez in the first round. Gabrielle Fernandez was badly hurt after taking a left hook from the Australian. O’Neill was returning from a year and a half of inactivity due to an injury that nearly ended her career.
Brazilian Alexia Thainara defeated her compatriot Bruna Brasil by unanimous decision (30-27). Alexia dominated the fight on the ground, repeatedly taking her opponent and securing the victory. It was a rematch, as the two had previously faced off at Thunder Fight in 2019, where Bruna won by submission.
