Viktor Faust Defends WBO European Title Against Mariusz Wach

0 5

Following his impressive WBO European Championship win, Victor Faust remains active. The heavyweight boxer from EC Boxing will step into the ring again this coming Wednesday, this time as part of the “László Papp Centenary Event” in the Hungarian capital, Budapest. The event is being held in honor of the Hungarian boxing legend, who would have turned 100 on March 25.

There, a renowned opponent awaits in the form of the experienced Pole Mariusz Wach. Wach, who has already competed at the highest level against several world-class heavyweights and once boxed against Wladimir Klitschko for the world championship, brings enormous experience and is considered a tough, physically robust opponent.

Promoter Erol Ceylan puts the fight into perspective: “The contracts with Mariusz Wach were signed back in December. Due to scheduling changes, the fight has now been postponed, meaning Wach has been working specifically towards this bout for months. Accordingly, we expect a tough opponent and a real test for Victor.”

For Faust, the fight in Budapest is the next important test. After his quick title win recently, he now aims to take the next step towards the top of the world rankings against an internationally experienced opponent.
