Venezeula Has 12 spots For XXV Central American and Caribbean Games 2026 In Santo Domingo

Venezuela secured a total of 12 spots (six for women and six for men) for the upcoming XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 following its participation in the international qualifying tournament held from March 10–17 at the CODE multipurpose gymnasium in Jalisco, Mexico.

Omaylin Alcalá, a bronze medalist at the Liverpool 2025 World Championships, won the gold medal in the 57 kg division, defeating Magda Masso of Cuba by RSC (Referee Stopped Contest).

Other results:

Krisandy Rios won a silver medal after losing by split decision (3–2) to Camila Camilo of Colombia in the 60 kg division.

Irismar Cardozo also won a silver medal, losing by split decision (3–2) to Valeria Amparan of Mexico.

Youly Mena won a silver medal in the 65 kg division, losing 5–0 to Darianne Hernández of Mexico.

Maryelis Yriza won the silver medal in the 75 kg category, losing 4–1 to Lorien Alonzo of Mexico.

Diana Maestre won the bronze medal in the 54 kg category after losing in the semifinals to Yenni Arias of Colombia.

Diego Pereira won the silver medal in the 80 kg category, losing by split decision (3–2) to Keylor García of Cuba.

Andrés Cova (55 kg), Wilson Solórzano (60 kg), and Lisandro Tejada (70 kg) qualified for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo by finishing third in their respective weight classes.

Wilmer Rojas, competing in the 90 kg category, also secured his spot for the 2026 Santo Domingo Games.
