Amelia Moore Prepared To Seize Moment In NABF Title Fight At North Shore Music Theatre

On Saturday, March 28, unbeaten lightweight contender Amelia Moore (3-0, 1 KO) steps into the ring at the iconic North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, MA to face Canada’s Bonnie Hunter (6-6, 3 KOs) for the vacant NABF Lightweight Championship.

The eight-round bout serves as the co-feature to CES Boxing’s ‘North Shore Knock Out’, a stacked card featuring two championship bouts, a New England lightweight showdown, and several of the best prospects in boxing.

Tickets for ‘North Shore Knock Out’, priced between $60 and $110, are on sale now at CESFights.com and at the North Shore Music Theatre. Doors open at 6pm, with the first bell at 7pm EST.

For Moore, a 2020 U.S. Olympic alternate and five-time U.S. National Amateur Champion, the bout represents her first opportunity to capture a professional title — and a pivotal step toward the world stage.

“This is what I always wanted,” said an excited Moore from the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO, where she regularly spars with the likes of 2024 US Olympian Alyssa Mendoza. “I feel like I’m exactly where I need to be — mentally, physically and spiritually.”

Already ranked No. 2 by the WBO and No. 7 by the WBA at 140 pounds after just three professional bouts, Amelia approaches fight week as one of the fastest-rising contenders in women’s boxing. A victory over Hunter could place her firmly into the WBC lightweight rankings and accelerate her climb toward a world title opportunity.

Yet Moore appears remarkably calm as fight week nears.

“I have zero nerves,” she admitted. “After over 125 fights around the world, I’ve seen it all.”

Indeed, few fighters enter the pro ranks with the depth of experience Moore brings into the ring.

Before turning pro in late 2024, Moore built one of the most accomplished amateur résumés in U.S. boxing. The Colorado Springs-based fighter, originally from Oxford Hills, Maine, won five national championships, represented Team USA internationally and served as the alternate for the 2020 U.S. Olympic team.

Along the way she shared the ring with elite competition from around the world.

“I’ve seen everything there is to see,” continued Moore. “Orthodox, southpaw — after that many fights all over the world, there’s nothing in the ring that surprises me.”

That experience, Moore believes, gives her a decisive edge even as she takes on seasoned veterans in the professional ranks.

Enter Bonnie Hunter, a fighter with four times as many professional bouts as Amelia and the No. 2-ranked lightweight in Canada.

The durable Canadian has never been dropped in twelve fights and has been active, fighting three times in 2025. In fact, the fighters appeared on the same card in October 2025 at Foxwoods, where Hunter lost a decision to Moore’s CES stablemate Stevie Jane Coleman while Amelia dominated Victoria Mason over six rounds.

“I had a chance to watch her and Stevie fight live,” said Moore. “Bonnie is a durable, game fighter who will engage. We were originally supposed to fight on November 22, so we’ve both had plenty of time to get ready.”

While Moore expects a competitive fight, she believes that her experience, speed and footwork will ultimately prove decisive.

“I know what my skill set is,” said Moore. “I know I’m faster. I know I have more tools in my toolbox. I know that my feet are fantastic. That’s really going to be the difference.”

While many young professionals are guided carefully through early matchmaking, Moore has made it clear she is interested in meaningful fights where she’ll learn something rather than cultivate a padded record.

“I want progressive fights,” she explained. “I want fair fights. It’s unfortunate when you see situations where the A-side is fully ready for a date and the B-side comes in super late. That’s not the case here. I’m not here to pretend. That’s what moves the sport forward and makes it exciting.”

A Hometown Traveling with Her

Although this fight takes place in Massachusetts, Moore won’t be short on hometown support.

Beverly is roughly three and a half hours from Oxford Hills, Maine, where Moore first discovered martial arts through an after-school program as a child. In the weeks leading up to the fight, friends and local businesses from the region came together with a creative idea to fund a fan bus so supporters can travel together to the event.

The initiative allows fans to make the trip for just $10.

“If you can’t fight in your hometown,” Moore said with a smile, “you bring your hometown to you.”

For Moore, the gesture represents more than just logistical support — it is a reminder of the community that helped shape her journey.

“My heart is so full,” she said. “It’s crazy seeing everyone rally like this. I’m so grateful.”

World Ambitions

While the focus remains firmly on Hunter, Moore understands the broader implications of the opportunity in front of her.

The NABF title has long served as a steppingstone for fighters moving toward world championship contention. With her existing rankings in the WBO and WBA already placing her near the top of the division, a victory on March 28 could also move Moore into the top 10 of a third sanctioning body, the WBC.

But the path forward, she insists, begins with taking care of business in Beverly.

“My complete focus is on March 28 against Bonnie Hunter,” emphasized Moore. “The NABF title deserves that respect. I’m stoked: my hometown will be there, and everything is coming together at the perfect time. There are many opportunities out there, but we take this step first, and then we keep grinding to whatever’s next.”

With a championship on the line, a hometown crowd making the journey, and the momentum of a rapidly rising career behind her, Moore appears ready to make that step count.
