USA Boxing Reverses Position On Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act
USA Boxing, the governing body of amateur boxing in the United States, has reversed course on its previous stance regarding support of the Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act (H.R. 4624). In a letter signed by President of USA Boxing, Tyson Lee and Executive Director/CEO of USA Boxing, Mike McAtee, the organization has announced its about-face to congressman Tim Walberg, Chairman of the Committee on Education and the Workforce.
A previous letter dated January 18, 2026, appeared to support the bill at that time. The new draft, dated February 27, 2026, withdraws that support, clarifying that the earlier correspondence “does not represent an official position of USA Boxing,” regarding the bill.
