Busy Day For EBU Purse Bids

It was a busy day at noon at the EBU office in Rome, Italy, with purse bids held in six different weight divisions.
Super Middleweight: Spanish promoter JHD bid €171,113 ($198,548) for the right to stage Jose Luis Navarro Jr. (17-2) vs. Oliver Zaren (19-0) for the vacant title, while Danish Primetime Promotions finished second with an offer of €50,005 ($58,023). JHD has set May 23 as the date, with Madrid the likely site.
Super Welterweight: Champion Milan Prat (29-1) of France was left without an official challenger after England’s Sam Eggington (36-9) withdrew before the purse bids took place.
Silver Super Lightweight: Italy’s Loreni Boxe was the sole bidder for the vacant title bout between Belgium’s Hovhannes Martirosyan (19-1) and Italy’s Luigi Alfieri (12-3-1). Loreni submitted a bid of €8,250 ($9,573).
Women’s Division
Super Welterweight: There were no bids for the fight between champion Marine Beauchamp (8-2-1) of France and Germany’s Naomi Mannes (8-3-1), as Mannes withdrew as the official challenger.
Super Lightweight: Spain’s Tundra Promotions was the sole bidder, offering €8,111 ($9,411) for the bout between champion Silvia Bortot (13-4-1) of Italy and official challenger Ioana Fecioru (8-3) of Romania, who is based in Spain.
Super Flyweight: Shannon Ryan (10-1) withdrew, leaving Italy’s Elisa Papa (6-0-1) without a co-challenger for the vacant title. As a result, there were no bidders.
