Aceituno Decisions Conteras To Lift UBO International Title
On Friday night, February 27, in Santa Elena, El Salvador, Billy Aceituno captured the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Welterweight title by defeating Mexican puncher Juan Ramon Guzman Conteras.
In a competitive fight, “La Maquina” Aceituno, from neighbouring Guatemala, was the more active and accurate man in most of the rounds, while Conteras tried his best but failed to get the upper hand.
The Guatemalan started fast and scored a knock-down with a left hook in the very first rounds, but Conteras had no trouble beating the referees count and quickly got up to find his way into the fight.
But, after ten rounds of boxing, Aceituno was deservedly declared the winner by unanimous decision, with scores of 96-93, 96-93 and 97-93.
This was the ninth straight win for Aceituno, who improved his professional record to 11-3-1 (7) after a rough start to his career where he went 2-3-1 in his first six outings. Guzman Conteras falls to 18-9-1 (14).
The fight was part of Dagobox Fight Series 02, promoted by Dagobox Promotions in association with Trujillo Promotions.
