Fight Week RF53: Tucker Vs Akale
Tomorrow, Friday, February 27th, Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing will host the official weigh-in for the highly anticipated “Rockin’ Fights 53” fight card.
The weigh-in, open to the media and public, will begin at 12 PM ET, with fighters expected on the scales between 12:30 PM and 1 PM ET. All fighters scheduled to compete on Saturday’s card will be present and officially weigh in.
Twenty-four hours later, fight night arrives on Saturday, February 28th. Headlining the night’s action is a 10-round main event for the WBC US Middleweight Championship. New York’s rising star Jahi Tucker (15-1-1, 6 KOs) makes his Paramount debut and looks to climb the rankings, facing Minnesota’s dangerous and battle-tested Sona Akale (10-4, 5 KOs) in a matchup that promises nonstop action from the opening bell.
Also featured on the card will be local favorites including U.S. Marine veteran and Hofstra University master’s student Peter Latorre (5-0, 5 KOs), Poland’s heavyweight powerhouse Piotr Lacz (14-0-1, 10 KOs), and many more.
Following Friday’s weigh-in, fighters will be available for photos and media interviews in advance of Saturday night’s fights.
