IBHOF Thanks WBO For Financial Support Of Roof Repairs

San Juan, Puerto Rico based sanctioning body contributed to help the Hall of Fame protect and preserve boxing history

The International Boxing Hall of Fame extends its sincere thanks the World Boxing Organization (WBO) for its generous financial support for much needed repairs to the Hall of Fame’s Event Pavilion roof that were completed during the late fall and early winter.

“The WBO answered the Hall of Fame’s call for assistance and we are extremely grateful to president Gustavo Olivieri and former president Paco Valcarcel for their continued support,” stated Hall of Fame Executive Director Edward Brophy. “Since the Hall of Fame opened in 1989, the WBO has been a great friend and advocate of our mission to honor the great sport of boxing.”

“Upkeep is not something that people often talk about, but it really is essential for the Hall of Fame to maintain its quality standards as ‘The Showplace of Boxing’ and preserve memorabilia chronicling the rich history of the ‘sweet science,’” said Brophy. “As we begin 2026 with repairs completed on the roof it is an extraordinary feeling knowing there will be no issues moving forward and we are so appreciative of the WBO for making it happen.”
