Ex-OPBF Champ Sasaki Halts Filipino Pagalpalan

Former OPBF, WBO AP welterweight champ Jin Sasaki (20-2-1, 18 KOs), 147, returned to action after an annihilation by Brian Norman Jr. last June, and scored a spectacular stoppage of Filipino Marlon Pagalpalan (13-5-1, 6 KOs), 145.5, at 1:21 of the second round on Thursday in Tokyo, Japan. Sasaki, a roundhouse swinger, 24, kept boring in from the start, and exploded a same looping left hook as he was flattened by Norman eight months ago. But the Filipino wasn’t a flattened pancake as Sasaki had been but the referee promptly declared a halt at his visit to the deck with a thud.
