Peña To Face Former European Champion Jimenez In Bern, Switzerland On April 3rd

0 19

Undefeated Swiss professional boxer Angelo Peña (31) will face Spaniard Salvador Jimenez (30) on Good Friday, April 3, 2026. The 5’5″ tall boxer from Valladolid is a former Spanish and EBU European champion in the super featherweight division. With a record of 15-2-1, 6 KOs, Jimenez brings extensive international experience to the ring. Peña boasts a perfect record of 13-0, 7 KOs.

Last year, Jimenez fought for two of the world’s leading boxing promotions. In both Top Rank and Queensberry, he suffered away defeats against high-caliber opponents, losing only on points – against American Andres Cortes, currently ranked 4th by the WBO, and Briton Ryan Garner, the reigning EBU European champion.

For Peña, currently ranked number 6 by the WBO, this fight offers the opportunity to defend his WBO Intercontinental title for the fourth consecutive time. At the same time, the bout allows him to gauge his international standing against those boxers ranked directly above him. Peña has been preparing specifically for this challenge at a training camp in Las Vegas since the beginning of February.

The fight takes place as part of the event “Boxing Instead of Theatre”, which is organized annually on Good Friday at the Bern City Theatre by Swiss Pro Boxing.
