Wood-Warrington Face Off Ahead Of Rematch Clash This Saturday

Leigh Wood and Josh Warrington faced off today at the site of their rematch on Saturday: Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham. The two former champs met over two years ago in October of 2023 with Wood coming from behind to score a stoppage over his rival in the seventh round. Since then, Wood took time away from the ring, then came back to challenge Anthony Cacace for the IBO title at super feather, only to get stopped in the ninth. Warrington, for his part, lost a 12-round unanimous decision to Cacace for the same IBO belt, his third straight loss (after losing his IBF featherweight title to Luis Alberto Lopez and then Wood). However, Warrington is coming off a 10-round win over Asad Asif Khan last April in Sheffield.
