Danish super middle Jacob Bank (18-0) withdrew earlier today (Feb 17) from the scheduled purse bids for the vacant EBU title leaving Spaniard Jose Luis Navarro Jr (17-2) without a co-challenger.

There were reportedly intense negotiations to get Navarro Jr to Denmark but the Spanish team declined all offers.

At the same time Bank’s promoters, Primetime and Goldstar, announced that the Dane will headline a show April 25, again at home in Kolding against an opponent to be announced. Bank, who holds the WBO Global title, is ranked #3 by the WBO, #4 by the WBC, #7 with the IBO and #9 by the IBF. He is not ranked by the WBA.

As far as who Navarro Jr will fight for the EBU title the offer will go to the highest ranked available challenger.
