Weights from Lahr, Germany
By Per-Åke Persson
EBU heavyweight champion Labinot Xhoxhaj (21-0-1)weighed in at 254.9 lbs while the challenger from Sweden, Pezhman Seifkhani (18-1), weighed in at 249 lbs at the weigh-in earlier today at the Hallensportzentrum.
Both men looked strong, fit and ready for battle.
Xhoxhaj is big favourite with the betting companies and has scored two big wins in his two latest fights where he entered the ring as an underdog against the champ Oleksandr Zakhozyi and in the defence against touted Frenchman Mourad Aliev.
Seifkahni won the EBU Silver title in his last fight when he outscored Italian Eduardo Giustini but has never fought a guy like Xhoxhaj, who has a primitive but effective style of boxing where he relies on workrate and pressure.
