Bank Going For EBU Title
By Per-Åke Persson
Danish super middle and WBO Global champ Jacob Bank (18-0) is now ranked # 3 by the WBC and # 4 by the WBO after the one-sided beating he handed out against William Scull Saturday night in Kolding and a world title shot is around the corner.
However, next for Bank could be a fight for the vacant EBU title where Spaniard Jose Luis Navarro (17-2) was mandatory challenger for then champ Troy Williamson, who relinquished the title.
Navarro and his team already have an offer from Bank’s promoters, Primetime and Goldstar, which they, according to Spanish sources, are not happy with so negotiations will continue and if no agreement is reached the EBU will call for purse bids.
Should a Bank vs Navarro Jr be made it could land on the Primetime show May 2 in Brondby (outskirts of Copenhagen). Headlining that show is IBF I-C super middleweight champ Oliver Zaren (19-0).
