DAZN Acquire Global Broadcast Rights For BOXXER’s The World Awaits Fight Night
DAZN has acquired the global broadcast rights for BOXXER’s The World Awaits fight night on Saturday, January 31 live from the Copper Box Arena in London.
The world’s leading sports entertainment platform and global home of boxing, DAZN, will screen the event in the UK and Ireland alongside BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, and exclusively worldwide across more than 200 territories.
Francesca Hennessy takes on Ellie Boutell in a final eliminator for the WBC World Bantamweight Title, with the WBC Silver Bantamweight Championship also on the line. 21-year-old Hennessy is aiming to become the youngest undisputed world champion of all time. A win will set up a showdown with Cherneka ‘Sugar Neekz’ Johnson, the current WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO ruler.
Gradus Kraus, one of the most exciting prospects in world boxing, will look to extend his unbeaten run as he faces Glasgow boxer Boris Crighton. Crighton has previously gone the distance with former IBO World Champion Lyndon Arthur and should provide the Dutchman with the toughest test of his career so far.
BOXXER Founder & CEO Ben Shalom said: “We are delighted to be partnering with DAZN alongside our free-to-air partnership with the BBC. I believe that the BBC together with the global home of boxing DAZN can be a powerful combination in the sport for developing household names and creating a clear pathway for fighters in British boxing.’’
