New opponent for Thorslund

Brazilian Lila Furtado will now not face Dina Thorslund January 31 in Kolding (Denmark) with the vacant WBC Interim featherweight at stake.
Primetime Boxing, the promoter for the Kolding event, writes in a press release that MVP, who promotes the undefeated Dane, has been forced to find a new opponent for Thorslund after a contractual disagreement with Furtado.
Thorslund (23-0) will now meet 43-year old Spanish Almudena Alvarez (7-3), who was in training to defend the EBU super featherweight title against Martina Righi.
The WBC Interim title is still at stake but Alvarez still represents a step down in class as compared with Furtado.
On the undercard there is also a change of opponent for Swedish light heavy Costas Nanga (12-0) after German Alpay Yaman (17-6) got himself knocked out in Poland last weekend.
Nanga will now face another German in Issam Faiz (7-2-1) in a fight scheduled for six rounds.
Jacob Bank (17-0) headlines in a defence of the WBO Global title against Cuban William Scull (23-1).
