Turki Alalshikh has announced that Canelo Alvarez will return to the ring on September 12, 2026, headlining a card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, billed as “Mexico Against the World”.
The event will be the first under Alvarez’s new “Canelo Promotions” banner, with fighters from his team facing “the world”. The opponent for Canelo in the main event, which will be for a world title, is yet to be announced and is currently being kept as a surprise. The Mexican superstar’s return follows a period of recovery from elbow surgery he underwent after his loss to Terence Crawford in September 2025.
