The co-main event features another German heavyweight, AGON boxer Granit Shala, who faces a crucial test against Croatian Petar Milas in a fight for the IBF International title.

Following Wednesday’s public training session, Shala appeared reflective, focused, and combative on the podium yesterday in front of numerous press representatives. I’m fired up for Saturday and I want to win this fight.”

The absence of Petar Milas at the press conference also attracted attention. However, Shala remained unfazed and made his focus clear: “I don’t care whether he’s here or not. Hopefully he’ll be here on Saturday – that’s much more important. We’ve prepared very well and had top sparring partners throughout the holidays. While others were out celebrating, we were in the gym sparring. We’re extremely well prepared for our opponent. Bring on Saturday!”

Shala also openly addressed the mental pressure that comes with performing on one of Germany’s biggest boxing stages in recent years, and made it clear how his team deals with it: “Of course, it’s also a huge mental challenge. But my team and I completely transform this pressure into something positive. The fact that we now have such a big stage and such a big event in Germany is our motivation.”

Following the press conference, attention now turns to the next mandatory event of Fight Week: the official weigh-in is scheduled for today at 6:00 PM in Düsseldorf. It is the last formal step before the decisions are made in the ring on Saturday.
