Manager Ohashi: Naoya Inoue Is In Tip-Top Shape
By Joe Koizumi
Undisputed world super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue (31-0, 27 KOs; knockout ratio 0.870) participated in a public workout in Riyadh on Christmas Eve, and his manager/promoter Hideyuki Ohashi (former WBC, WBA minimumweight titlist) described his condition, saying, “Naoya is in tip-top shape. He is going to fight his fourth bout this year, and he is in the very best condition out of the four defenses.” Naoya, upon his arrival last Friday, confidently said, “I’d like to prove I’m the best in the 122-pound division.” Also unbeaten, his challenger Alan David Picasso (32-0, 17 KOs; KO ratio 0.531), Mexico, is an obvious underdog, but is aiming for an upset victory against the negative odds. Time will tell.
