In his fourth attempt JBC#2 Katsuki Mori (14-4, 3 KOs), 104.75, finally seized the vacant Japanese minimumweight belt as he decked an upset decision (all 98-92) over IBF#5, JBC#1 Goki Kobayashi (8-3, 5 KOs; amateur 23-10), 105, over ten fast rounds on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan. Kobayashi, former WBO AP champ, was a logical prefight favorite, but Mori tonight showed his best of best to outleg, outspeed and outpunch the ex-champ, steadily piling up points. The loser was too nervous and stiff to throw punches smoothly since he was too eager to score with power shots at a time.
