After an eye-catching double knockdown in round two, former IBF 122-pound champ Yukinori Oguni (23-4-3, 9 KOs), 121.75, earned a unanimous decision (all 78-74) over WBC#14 super bantam Thachtana Luangphon (26-2-1, 16 KOs), 121.5, over eight see-saw rounds on Wednesday in Tokyo, Japan. Having tasted his first setback at the hand of Sam Goodman in Australia this July, Thachtana looked powerful and pugnacious in the first round. We witnessed a very rare double knockdown in the second when each threw a left hook following a straight right with Oguni hitting the deck on seats of his trunks, while Tachtana touching the canvas with a glove. It became a war since thereafter and they punished each other. Oguni, 37, still kept fighting after his IBF coronation by dethroning Jonathan Guzman in 2016.
